Jack Peñate started making music while he was attending high school when he formed a loose conglomeration with his friends known as Jack's Basement, which included Felix White of the Maccabees.
Peñate made a name for himself in London’s club and bar scene before finding UK chart success with his singles Spit at Stars and Torn on the Platform. His debut album Matinée was released in October 2007 after he had performed at the majority of the year's major festivals - recognised for his eccentric dancing and his fast paced soulful sound.
His appearance at this year’s Wireless Festival 2009 sponsored by Barclaycard will be hot on the heels of his second appearance at the Glastonbury and proves to be one Matinée you’ll not want to miss!
