Mpho's family moved from South Africa to London when she was a toddler to escape apartheid with music being a constant presence in her life. She’s grown up with hip hop, and it’s the rapper’s delight in wordplay that gives her lyrics their incisive bite.
No stranger to the business, she sang on Bugz In the Attic single Booty La La and ColdCut’s Sound Mirrors album and has done backing vocals for Ms Dynamite and Natasha Bedingfield.
With sounds of electronic pop and urban swing her debut album, Pop Art is due for release soon. She’s sure to be starting the party at Wireless 2009 sponsored by Barclaycard.
